Emergency Contraception

What is Emergency Contraception?

Emergency contraception (EC) is a safe and effective way to prevent pregnancy when taken within a specific time frame after unprotected sex. It is most effective when taken as soon as possible, ideally within 72 hours. EC works by delaying ovulation, preventing fertilization, or stopping a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus.

Types of Emergency Contraceptives We Offer

At Strive Meds, we provide the following types of emergency contraceptives:

  • Emergency Contraceptive Pills (ECPs): Over-the-counter pills such as Plan B® and prescription-only pills like Ella®.
  • Copper IUD: This can be inserted by a healthcare provider within five days of unprotected sex and provides long-term contraception.
